Chair of the Lottery for the Arts event, Darla Yetter states, “this art event that goes beyond the typical art auction—one that creates the element of chance coupled with excitement, great food, wine and fun.  We are especially pleased with the response from the art community—more than 100 artists, both local and national, have demonstrated their support of the arts by donating their exceptional work for the event.  Everyone purchasing a lottery ticket will ‘win’ a piece of original art and the community wins because proceeds benefit children and family programs and our diverse exhibits, so it is a win-win situation.”

Art in the lottery represents a wide range of media and subject matter and may be viewed on Roseville Arts’ website:  www.rosevillearts.org .  Along with each piece will be a link to the artist’s website or Facebook page and a brief statement.  The art will be included in the preview exhibition, Sept 28-Oct 8, at the Blue Line Gallery, 405 Vernon Street in downtown Roseville.  The Meet the Artists Reception will take place Thursday, October 7, beginning at 5:30pm.  Limited tickets are available for this reception for $10.

The Lottery for the Arts party will take place Friday, October 8, beginning at 6:30pm.  During this event, only the ticket holder and their guest will be admitted to enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine, and sweets, while the lottery tickets are being drawn.  As the “winner” is announced, they will call out the number of the art piece they wish to take home. The cost of one ticket is $165 for members, guests (non-ticket holders) $10.  Tickets sold will be limited by the number of art pieces included in the lottery. Tickets may be purchased on line at www.rosevillearts.org , by phone 916-783-4117, or at the Blue Line Gallery. We highly recommend that ticket holders review the exhibit in advance (either on line or in person during the exhibit) to choose their favorite pieces. They should have several alternate selections should their favorite piece be taken before their ticket is drawn.  Adding to the excitement will be a raffle for “first choice” pick and other prizes to be available during the event.
