NEW BEGINNINGS AT THE BLUE LINEArtists Start 2011 off with Fresh New Work
ROSEVILLE, CA, January 5, 2011—New and renewing member artists of Roseville Arts Blue Line Gallery will celebrate the New Year with “New Beginnings,” an exhibit opening at the Gallery on January 15, 2011.
This exhibit features the work of 41 artists whose work represents a variety of media, subject matter and artistic styles. Among the entries is a ceramic and neon piece by artist Patty Paige Short. “Heart Strings” is from a recent series Short completed of figurative works infused with emotional purpose.
Joon Park’s “Two is One” finely-rendered acrylic painting of two fish and a landscape was inspired by Park’s fascination with time. “It's amazing how earth revolves around the everyday,” said the young artist, pointing out how the movement of sun and weather show time moving forward. This everyday expression tells us to move forward and not linger in the past.
New gallery member William Mark Sommer said about his brightly-colored entry, “I am traditionally a photographer by trade and art but I also love to paint. I went through a tough time for about two years where I was inspired to paint these abstract circles and objects, and I really enjoyed it.”
These and more works will be exhibited for sale at the Blue Line Gallery during the opening reception, January 15, 6-9pm (6-7pm, Roseville Arts members only), and through February 16, Tues-Sat, 10-5.
