Lottery for the Arts Exhibition Opened at the Blue Line Gallery

ROSEVILLE, Calif., September 2, 2009 Roseville Arts announced that 104 pieces of art valued at nearly $40,000 have been received from contributing artists , included in its “Lottery for the Arts—Everybody Wins” event to take place on September 11, 2009.  The art is currently on view through September 10.   “It's so exciting to see the depth of the selection of work for this event," said curator Beth Rohlfes, "You really can't lose in this Lottery. There is something here for everyone!"   An army of volunteer artists assisted Rohlfes during installation of the 104 pieces in time for the opening on September 1.   She continued, “Visitors to the gallery are amazed at the quality of work making up the exhibit  and are enjoying  voting for their favorite piece—the largest vote getter will receive the ‘People’s Choice Award’ and a cash prize to be awarded on September 10th . “

  
Who:  Roseville Arts at the Blue Line Gallery
What:  An art lottery – the first of its kind for the Sacramento Region - An exciting evening of food, wine, fine art--everyone goes home with a piece of original art!  In addition, prizes will be raffled off during lottery breaks and a live auction will culminate the evening.
When:  Preview Exhibition opened September 1 and continues through September 10; Gallery Hours—Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm and Saturdays, 1-8pm; Gala Lottery for the Arts Event: September 11, 2009; Beginning at 6:30 pm
Where: Roseville Arts Blue Line Gallery,   405 Vernon Street, Roseville, California
Why:  To celebrate the generosity of more than 100 local artists who are supporting community arts programs through their donations of fine art     
Cost: Ticket Cost:  $175 per ticket which admits 2 guests to the Lottery party and ensures that the holder will “win” a piece of fine art.  Proceeds benefit children and family arts programs presented by Roseville Arts in support of its mission: “Creating a vibrant community through the arts.”
In addition to the 104 donations of art, generous sponsors have contributed to the event.  Sponsors to date include: Rabobank, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Premier Laser Center & Med Spa, Diane Williams, Darla Yetter, Bright Beginnings Welcoming Service, Divine Desserts, Julie Fielder, Mourier Land Investment Corporation, Noel Flynn Art & Framing, Our Growing Concern, Tahoe Joe’s, A Chef’s Table, Matthew and Kelly Bell, Café Zorro, & Sue Kirstein.
